Better forward visibility
Because of the low cab forward design, N-Series trucks offer a sight-line-to-ground of only 8.6 feet, compared to 23.8 feet for conventional trucks.

Actually, when you’re driving the N-Series Trucks, it’s not like
work. They really are enjoyable and easy to drive. Thanks to the low cab
forward design, the driver has a commanding view of the road ahead,
which comes in handy when maneuvering in tight quarters. Here are the
highlights of these trucks from a driver’s perspective:
- New, larger, more spacious cab with additional
side-to-side and front
to-back space – that’s great news for all drivers
(especially tall ones). The increased leg space is a
real asset for rear center crew cab passengers.
This design also allows for more seat travel, extra
head and shoulder space as well as the increase
in legroom.
- 85 degree swing-out door opening allows for easier driver
access into and out of the cab for enhanced safety, efficiency
and productivity.
- Wider, self-cleaning step (384 mm vs. 301mm) further enhances ease
of entry and easier egress from the cab for enhanced safety, efficiency
and productivity.
- Fully trimmed door panels with radio prep
and larger map storage
pockets allows for local radio installation
without removing the door
panels, while the larger pockets provide
additional storage space for
maps, clipboards and other papers.
- Two door-mounted ashtrays provide easy
access to an ashtray for the driver and front seat passenger.
- Power windows and door locks now include power windows for the
rear crew cab doors – this provides easier operation and driver
convenience, while enhancing the comfort of the back seat passengers.
- High back bucket seats with seatback pockets, breathable tricot cloth
seat trim and a new seatbelt design with the buckle in the seat – this
new design allows for greater driver comfort, easier seatbelt usage,
additional storage space, plus the tricot seat material stays cooler in the
summer and warmer in the winter for additional comfort.
- 36 mm more seat travel and 4.8o more seat reclining provide a wider
range of adjustment so the driver can find the ideal position that’s right
for them.
- Fully trimmed cab interior (single cab only) with overhead storage
shelves provide additional noise insulation, while enhancing the
appearance of the cab and providing additional storage space.
- Rear coat hook makes it easy to store a coat so it’s out of the way.
- Rear storage organizer provides a
place for fire extinguisher and triangle
reflector kit mounting with center
pocket storage.
- Cup holders in the
center console for extra
large fountain drinks
and in the dash for
regular-sized cans and
cups.
- Cruise control is
stalk-mounted for easier operation and enhanced driver comfort.
- New, modern design of the instrument panel provides improved
outward visibility.
- High-output ventilation system keeps the interior fresh be efficiently
recirculating their air.
- 5 DIN dash opening provides space for future optional equipment such
as radios, GPS, rearview cameras and many others. This makes it easier
to install, as there’s already space allotted for the installation.
- Cardholder and bag hook provides space for the operator to keep tow
tickets, fuel cards and a plastic bag holder for more efficient operation
and a more organized cab.
- 12V auxiliary power outlet can be used to power up radios, cell phone
chargers and other electronics, making these N-Series Trucks even more
convenient to operate.
- Dash-mounted pull-out cup holder stores beverages and is within easy
reach of the driver and passengers, which enhances safety, efficiency and
productivity.
- Brighter interior dome lamp provides better visibility at night.
- New LED-compatible flasher unit allows for the installation of LED
body lamps for safer operation.
- Engine warning light and optional
engine shutdown protection
system warns the operator if there
is a problem with low oil pressure,
high water temperature or low
water level. The optional engine
shutdown system allows the driver
time to maneuver the vehicle out
of traffic prior to engine shut
down. It also helps protect the engine from irreversible damage.
- Optional cab power take-off switch and engine idle up switch are
designed for easier PTO operation.

The N-Series trucks have a 44,000 psi
frame for greater strength, various wheelbases that can accommodate bodies
up to 24 ft., and a “clean” frame for effortless body mounting. In addition,
the frame features 80/40mm modular hole spacing that makes it
even easier to add equipment or mount a body.

The large side windows make the cab more attractive. Also, because they are cut lower into
the door, they improve outward visibility. This enhances safety, efficiency,
productivity and employee retention. Drivers would rather drive trucks that
are easy to maneuver, yes?

The N-Series Trucks have
a removable front panel – this panel provides easy technician access
to the windshield wiper motor, wiper linkage, electrical cab connections,
and the air intake filters. That’s a real plus when attending to
these maintenance items, which helps keep operating costs lower
because service can be performed in a timelier manner.
